Bare paddocks, lots of dust and hungry sheep.

That’s the picture today.
Hopefully things will change by early next week as a large front nears the coast.
This has been the longest dryest start to the season ever for parts of the southwest and great southern of WA. Not a record we enjoy.
So all the big tractors and sprayers are sitting in sheds waiting for some moisture. It is getting a bit late now but a good finish will even things up a bit.
We don’t crop much so this is not an issue for us, we just have lots of sheep to feed every few days.
The dust is causing a few headaches literally. After so long of breathing it in, our lungs and noses are dying for some fresh air.
Hopefully soon.

Even the chooks are yearning for some green grass.

In other news a new puppy has joined the camp.
Not that I need another one but she is very cute.
From Ken Athertons Ramulam Feathers out of Nancy Withers’ (eastern states) bitch Pomanda Lilly.
I particularly liked Lilly when I saw her working and decided I would like some of those bloodlines.
She is yet to be named though, always a difficult job.

We introduced her to Balto and he showed his gentle side by playing nicely with her.

As usual I have done little training with the other dogs, just havent felt up to it. Perhaps after the rain..............
And for the really big news.
With daylight saving votes two thirds counted it appears likely that daylight saving will be gone for good.
Yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
